The Kraft Center Celebrates the Establishment of the Trefler Center for Cancer Equity

On November 18, 2016, over 100 academic medicine, community health and corporate leaders gathered to celebrate the establishment of the Trefler Practitioner Program for Cancer Equity at the Kraft Center for Community Health leadership. The program was established through a $1,000,000 gift from Pamela and Alan Trefler and the Trefler Foundation, to provide early screening, diagnosis and treatment of cancer in the most marginalized of vulnerable populations. In addition to the Trefler gift announcement, Dr. Jim O’Connell, founder of Boston’s Healthcare for the Homeless Program read from his recently published book, Stories from the Street.
